  • Preperation
    Choose a light colour as foreground colourn, I have chosen #cacfde , and a darker one for the background colour #1b1b29
    Change foreground colour to foreground-background colour gradient:

    The gradient Duotone dark blue, will be used later (see item 26). We do not need it right now. What to do with it will be explained in due time.

    If you use a different image than the @nn_zara_2.jpg, resize it to the settings shown below:



    View - toolbars, all checked except Yahoo, we need the script toolbar in this lesson:


    PAY ATTENTION: : if you use different colours, you still have to use the gradient Duotone dark blue. Every time you use the gradient you can colorize it afterwards: (Adjust – hue and saturation – colorize or shift L)

    Colorize only the gradient, nothing else!

    Read this lesson very carefully, it is a large lesson and not an easy one. So give it your full attention!


    The lesson

  1. Activate the background image named @nn_zara_1.
  2. Window - duplicate, close the original and continue with your copy -- ›› adjust - hue/saturation - colorize if necessary
  3. Layers - new raster layer
  4. Flood fill with your gradient
  5. Adjust - blur – Gaussian blur: radius: 50
  6. Layer palette: opacity: 40, blend mode: Screen
  7. Layers - new raster layer
  8. Flood fill with jour background colour -->> click right  with the mouse button to flood fill with your dark colour
  9. Layers -load/save mask – load mask from disk and select the mask called: Zara_mask2257_tdstudio.pspMask
  10. Layers - merge - merge group
  11. Selections – select all
  12. Selections - float
  13. Selections - selections load/save selection - load selection to  ALPHA channel:
    Pay attention Add to document -->>make sure the name of your document appears here (it normally does).
    Give the selection a name: Zara
  14. Selections -deselect !!!!!!!
  15. Adjust - blur - radial blur with settings shown below:
  16. Layers palette: opacity: 100, blend mode: Overlay
  17. Layers - new raster layer !!!!!!!!
  18. Selections - selections load save selection - load selections from Alpha Channel

    You should have this by now:
  19. Flood fill the selection with your gradient:
  20. Selections - deselect
  21. Layers palette: opacity: 100, blend mode: Screen
  22. Layers - duplicate
  23. Effects - Plug-in Filter - Tramages - Wee Scratches:
  24. Layers palette: opacity: 50, blend mode: Screen

    You have this now:
  25. Window - duplicate -- >> Proceed as follows -->>
    LAYERS - properties - rename (background  MAIL)

    and minimize(will we use this image as background image for the outlook script). Proceed with your original work (you have still one left)
  26. Change the foreground colour into gradient DUOTONE DARK BLUE:
    ---->>>If you use other colours: ALWAYS adjust - hue/saturation - colorize DUOTONE DARK BLUE

    with these settings:
  27. Layers - new raster layer
  28. Selections load/save selection - load selection from disk and select  Zara_sel001_tdstudio.PspSelection
  29. Flood fill your selection with the foreground/background gradient :
    ---->>> If you use other colours: do not forget to colorize the DUOTONE DARK BLUE gradient
  30. leave SELECTION !!!!!!!!!!
  31. Effects - Distortion effects - twirl: 180 degree
  32. Selections – select none
  33. Effects - Alien Skin Eye Candy 5 Impact - Motion Trail choose my preset: :
  34. Layers - merge - merge all Layers
    You have this now:
  35. Window - duplicate -- >> Proceed as follows -->>
    LAYERS – Properties - rename (ZARA WITH BALK 1) and Rename the other one (ZARA WITH BALK 2)



    and minimize (ZARA WITH BALK 2) proceed with -- ›› (ZARA WITH BALK 1)
  36. (ZARA BALK 1) Edit -Copy !!!!!!!!!! Don’t forget!!!!!!!!!
  37. Activate the image  @nn_zara_2.jpg
  38. Activate your toolbar Script, select my script Zara_randen in the Categorie Scripts-restricted click the little blue arrow and run the script.

    (1px dark, 2 px lighter, 1 px dark, 30 px lighter, 1px dark)

    Pay attention: if you use different colours, click in the colour with the right mouse button and you see the colours you recently used. You will see your foreground and background colour as well.
    This is what you have -->>
  39. Activate the magic wand with settings shown below:
  40. Click in the pale broad border from your image:
  41. Edit – paste as a new LAYER
  42. Selection – invert and push delete on your keyboard
  43. Selections –select none
  44. Effects - 3D effects – inner bevel:
    Colour: white


    You have this now:
  45. This frame -> Edit – Copy special -, do not close your frame!!!!! you still need it later in this lesson
  46. Activate the other image called (ZARA WITH BALK 1) we were working with that one remember? It is the one with the blue beam on the top (see print screen)-- ››
  47. Edit – paste as a new layer
    You have this now:

  48. Effects - Plug-in Filter - Alien Skin Eye Candy 5 Impact - Perspective Shadow choose my preset on the tab SETTINGS:
  49. Layers - new raster layer
  50. Activate your brush tool and choose brush op @nn_zara_BRUSH_1946
  51. Stamp with your  gradient as follows::
    -- ›› Colorize if you use different colours .
  52. Layers - duplicate
  53. Image - mirror
  54. Layers - merge – merge down
  55. Shift + G -- ›› gamma correction to make the brush look darker:
  56. Effects - Plug-in Filter Alien Skin Eye Candy 5 Impact - Perspective shadow, choose my preset on the  tab SETTINGS:


  57. Activate toolbar Script again and run script Zara_randen_2.
    (1 px dark, 2 px light, 1 px dark, 30 px contrasting colour, 1px dark)
  58. Image, resize:
  59. Adjust – sharpness – unsharp mask:
  60. Edit Copy !!!!!!! Don’t forget !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  61. Activate the minimized image (ZARA WITH BALK 2) with the beam in top (you had still one left see item 35)

  62. Effects - Plug-in Filter Tramages - Wire Mesh
  63. Repeat: Adjust - sharpness – unsharp mask , click OK
  64. Edit – paste as a  new layer ( still in memory see item 60)
  65. Effects - Plug-in Filter - Alien Skin Eye Candy 5 Impact - Perspective Shadow choose my preset:


  66. Layers - new raster layer
  67. Repeat Selections - load/save selection - load selection from disk and choose selection  Zara_sel001_tdstudio.PspSelection
    (same selection from item 28) click OK
  68. Flood fill this selection with your gradient DUOTONE DARK BLUE
    Users of different  colours do not forget to colorize›› Adjust - hue/saturation - COLORIZE
  69. SELECTION – Leave selection !!!!!
  70. Effects - Distortion effects - Twirl: 180 degree
  71. Selections – select none
  72. Repeat effects - Distortion effects - Twirl: 180degree
  73. Layers - duplicate
  74. Image - mirror
  75. Image - flip
  76. Layers - merge – merge down
  77. Effects - Plug-in Filter - Mura's Meister Copies -->> Attention your result may be different from mine due to the  Random function.
    Not satisfied with the result?? Edit - Undo, click RESET at MM Copies. Redo.
    Change Your BG Colour (Background colour) to the darkest colour
  78. Effects - Plug-in Filter Alien Skin Eye Candy 5 Impact - Motion Trail choose my preset:
  79. Image - resize:
    Pay attention "Resize all Layers” UNCHECKED !!!!!!!


    This is what you should have:
  80. Layer palette: opacity between 60 and 70 as you like it best, blend mode: normal

    Edit –Copy special – Copy merged – paste as a new layer on your working area
